First time to Dubai

Recently, I visited Dubai for the first time in my life. The morning I woke up, I was super excited. I was going to see the biggest skyscraper on earth, a huge crocodile in a mall and a lot of other big things.

Funny thing is, despite all the anticipatory excitement, it became a very relaxed day. We drove from the capital to Dubai and that was very easy, just following one, long road. In my imagination, this would be a survival trip, crossing an arid desert, which made me worry about water and petrol supplies. But this turned out to be unnecessary, as there are quite a lot of buildings, shops etc. along the road and you don’t really feel like you’re out in the desert.

When getting there, I noticed the big city feel immediately. Shiny steel in the sand, everywhere. And of course the Burj Khalifa, towering high. Because we were early, before afternoon prayer, it wasn’t very busy yet. The Dubai aquarium was amazing, as was the food court in Dubai mall. Sand and steel, see you next time! Then we also plan to see this beautiful mural between Al Raha Mall and Al Bandar.
